How I work.
My personal therapy style is flexible, warm, client centred, process focussed, compassionate, direct and non-judgemental. My primary modality is Psychodynamic Therapy, but I also work from other frameworks including Interpersonal Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and of course CBT. I am also trauma informed, holistic and relational in my approach.
Shortly after completing my training in Clinical Psychology in 2009, I went on to train in Gestalt Therapy in Melbourne in 2011, and more recently I completed 5 years of Psychoanalytic training in Group Psychotherapy through the Australian Association of Group Psychotherapy. I love learning, developing and growing as a therapist over time, it’s one of the many privileges of this work.
As of 2024 I have been working in private practice for 15 years, and have studied a broad range of different therapeutic styles and techniques, which means the therapeutic process can be more creative and tailored to your style of thinking and communicating, while also remaining warm, accessible and authentic. In addition to the more specialised training already mentioned, I have also undertaken training workshops in Emotion Focussed Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Group Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Schema Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I have a deep interest in existential and process driven approaches, and I am passionate about delivering individually tailored interventions that arise creatively in the therapeutic context, based on getting to know my clients in depth over time and understanding their unique way of being in the world.

Group Psychotherapy.
Weekly Psychodynamic Group Psychotherapy may be offered to interested individual clients when places become available. Group Psychotherapy is intense and transformative, and offers different but complementary benefits to individual therapy.
Who I work well with.
I enjoy working with clients who have all levels of prior therapy experience, whether completely new to therapy, or they have a long list of previous therapy experience. I am interested in fostering a deep understanding of every client as their own unique individual and working collaboratively and transparently, rather than from a pathologising stance or the ‘expert’ role.
